Oxylabs and IPLight sit at opposite ends of the same market. Oxylabs is an enterprise data-collection platform: residential, mobile, ISP and datacenter proxies plus a scraper API, sold on monthly plans with account management. IPLight sells proxy traffic only, priced per gigabyte, with no plan to sign and no minimum to clear. Which one is cheaper depends almost entirely on how much you consume per month — so this page puts both price ladders side by side.

Price comparison
Oxylabs prices residential through four monthly plans. The per-GB rate improves as the plan grows, but the entry plan is $30 for 5 GB. IPLight charges one rate for traffic, with no plan structure at all.
| Line item | IPLight | Oxylabs (listed, 3 November 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Residential entry | $1.00 / GB, billed as you go | $30 / month for 5 GB — $6.00 / GB |
| Residential at ~20 GB / month | $1.00 / GB — no plan needed | $100 / month plan — $5.00 / GB |
| Residential at ~125 GB / month | $1.00 / GB | $500 / month plan — $4.00 / GB |
| Residential at 1 TB / month | $1.00 / GB | $2,500 / month plan — $2.50 / GB |
| Minimum commitment | None | $30 / month self-service plan |
| Static residential (ISP) | $3.00 / IP / month; $2.00 from 15 IPs | Per-IP plans by location and term |
| Datacenter | Dynamic pool, $1.00 / GB (100 GB minimum) | $1 / IP monthly plans, or $0.60 / GB traffic plans |
| Residential pool | 177M+ IPs, 200+ countries and regions | 175M+ IPs, 195 locations |
| Restricted targets | No category restrictions published | Documented list (Apple, banking, government, streaming, ticketing) |
At 100 GB per month the arithmetic is stark: Oxylabs' nearest tier is the 125 GB plan at $500 ($4/GB), while IPLight bills 100 GB at the $1/GB rate. If your monthly volume is under roughly 100 GB and you do not need the platform around it, the plan structure is pure overhead.
Where Oxylabs is the better choice
- Scraper API. Managed parsing for SERP, e-commerce and real-estate data. If you want clean JSON rather than HTML to parse yourself, that is real engineering time saved.
- Enterprise support. 24/7 chat plus a dedicated account manager on paid plans, and onboarding help that a large team may rely on.
- Compliance package. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type 2 documentation to satisfy procurement.
- Published performance benchmarks. Oxylabs publishes average response times and success rates; if your team needs numbers in a contract, that is valuable.
Where IPLight is the better choice
- Price per gigabyte. $1/GB against $6/GB on the entry plan and $4/GB at 125 GB. At 100 GB per month that is roughly a 75% cost reduction on the same traffic.
- No plan structure. Nothing to size in advance, nothing to under-use, no non-refundable allowance.
- No category restrictions. If your target is on a restricted list elsewhere, pricing is moot — we do not maintain one.
- Static ISP priced simply. $3 per IP per month, $2 from 15 IPs, instead of per-IP quotes that vary by country and term.
- Operational simplicity. One gateway, username-password auth, HTTP and SOCKS5. No zone model.
The target-restriction question
This is the part most comparison pages skip. Oxylabs documents a list of restricted targets on its residential network — certain Apple domains, banking, government, streaming and ticketing sites among them. That is a compliance policy, and it does not change with your plan size. If your data source is on that list, price is irrelevant: you cannot buy your way past a policy restriction.
IPLight publishes no target restriction list. What still applies is the target site's own defence — Cloudflare, DataDome, PerimeterX and similar systems decide per request. The honest statement is: we do not restrict categories, and we cannot guarantee any specific site will accept any specific IP. Test before you scale.
What switching actually involves
Both providers use a single gateway endpoint with username-password authentication, so the code change is three values: host, port and credentials.
# Same code, different endpoint: swap host, port and credentials
import requests
proxies = {
"http": "http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@gateway-host:port",
"https": "http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@gateway-host:port",
}
r = requests.get("https://your-target-site", proxies=proxies, timeout=20)
print(r.status_code, len(r.content))
Frequently asked questions
How does IPLight pricing compare with Oxylabs?
Oxylabs residential plans were listed at $30 for 5 GB ($6/GB), $100 for 20 GB ($5/GB), $500 for 125 GB ($4/GB) and $2,500 for 1 TB ($2.50/GB) when we checked on 3 November 2026. IPLight residential starts at $1 per GB with no plan and no monthly minimum, so the gap is widest at small and mid volumes.
What is Oxylabs better at?
Enterprise delivery: a mature Web Scraper API, 24/7 support with account management, unlimited concurrent sessions across the plan, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 documentation, and published sub-second response benchmarks. For a large team running continuous pipelines with an SLA attached, that package is worth paying for.
Does Oxylabs restrict any target sites?
Oxylabs' own documentation lists restricted targets on the residential network, including certain Apple domains, banking, government, streaming and ticketing sites. Read their FAQ before you commit if those are your targets — it is a policy limit, not a performance issue.
How many IPs does each provider have?
IPLight advertises 177M+ residential IPs across 200+ countries and regions. Oxylabs advertises 175M+ IPs across 195 locations. The pools are comparable in size; the difference is pricing model and platform scope.
Can I use IPLight for the same targets I use Oxylabs for today?
Usually yes for standard web targets, with one exception: if a target is on Oxylabs' restricted list, that restriction is their policy — IPLight has no such list, but the site's own anti-bot system still decides whether a request succeeds. Test your specific targets before moving volume.
Is there a minimum contract at IPLight?
No. Residential is billed per gigabyte as you go, and static ISP IPs are sold per IP per month with volume pricing from 15 IPs. Oxylabs' self-service residential plans start at $30 per month and are non-refundable once traffic is consumed.
